According to the National Alliance for Youth Sports, 70% of youth athletes drop out by age 13 due to burnout and pressure. But what's more concerning is that by age 14, girls drop out of sports at twice the rate of boys. We want to change that!
Success Beyond Athletics offers curated programs to support the club's development, scale, support, reputation and success with a holistic approach that engages players, parents and coaches. Through seminars, workshops, and seasonal series, SBA helps foster a win-win-win: improved experience, success and value for players, coaches and the team itself.
The Success Beyond Athletics program helps players set goals and define success both within and beyond sport, to build their confidence, resilience, joy, and fulfillment. With support for coaches and parents, the program helps players have more productive and positive conversations surrounding play, challenges, opportunities, and lessons.
Positive coaching can increase athlete retention by up to 30% (Positive Coaching Alliance). We provide training for your coaches to effectively support and motivate players, enhancing their leadership skills and creating a more cohesive team environment.
Surveys show that 60% of youth athletes feel pressure from parents to perform well (American Psychological Association). Our program educates parents on fostering healthy communication and realistic expectations, reducing unnecessary pressure and building a stronger community within your team.
Athletes are more likely to stay involved in sports when they have supportive and encouraging coaches. The Positive Coaching Alliance reports that positive coaching can increase athlete retention by up to 30%.
The National Youth Sports Strategy, reports that clubs with comprehensive programs that focus on overall athlete development often see a 15-20% increase in enrollment.
Improved coach development and positive parental engagement lead to better performance and satisfaction, attracting more players and enhancing your club's credibility, which can increase enrollment 15-20% according to The National Youth Sports Strategy.
We know that sports participation provides many benefits to youth that they can take with them, from childhood through adulthood. But research shows that 70% of youth athletes drop out of sports by age 13 due to burnout and pressure (National Alliance for Youth Sports.) Even more concerning is that by age 14, the dropout rate for girls is twice that of boys! (The Aspen Institute)
Success Beyond Athletics helps create a supportive and fulfilling environment to keep kids in the game, while addressing the three primary challenges that cause kids to quit sports:
Success Beyond Athletics helps players set personal goals and recognize achievements beyond the sport, fostering a sense of purpose, accomplishment and joy.
And, it also helps clubs improve experience and create unique value and distinction to increase player and coach retention in an increasingly competitive landscape.
Why does this matter? Because the youth sports industry has more than doubled in the last twenty years ($9 to $19 billion,) and an estimated 40-50% of that is connected to club and travel sports.
What this means is that there is both significant growth opportunity, but also significantly increased competition for players and coaches. The Success Beyond Athletics Program allows you to do good while you do well! (That rising tide lifts all boats philosophy, remember?) It provides a unique benefit that helps you grow your club while also helping keep more kids in the sport!
SBA focuses on improving the overall player experience, addressing the common challenges that cause kids to quit sports. By creating a supportive and fulfilling environment, players are more likely to remain committed to their sport and your team.
Research shows that 70% of youth athletes drop out of sports by age 13, primarily due to burnout and pressure (National Alliance for Youth Sports).
Goal Setting and Success Identification: By helping players set personal goals and recognize achievements beyond the sport, the program fosters a sense of accomplishment and joy, which is essential for long-term engagement.
Healthy Dialogue and Expectations: The program educates parents on fostering healthy communication and realistic expectations, reducing unnecessary pressure on players (and coaches) and creating a more positive sports experience.
Surveys show that 60% of youth athletes feel pressure from parents to perform well (American Psychological Association).
Community Building: Involving parents in the process builds a stronger sense of community within the club, leading to higher satisfaction, loyalty, retention and reputation.
Effective Coaching Strategies: The program provides training for coaches to navigate the complexities of working with young athletes and their parents, ensuring they can effectively support and motivate their players, while managing their parents.
Studies indicate that positive coaching can increase athlete retention by up to 30% (Positive Coaching Alliance).
Leadership Growth: Investing in coach development enhances their leadership skills, making them better mentors and role models, which translates into a
more cohesive and successful team environment.
This program enhances the value proposition of a coach joining your team versus another, which will help with both coach recruitment and retention.
